Is childcare available during worship service?

During the traditional service, we have a nursery for infants through age 3. At this time, our nurses is not manned, but we will be in the near future.  The room is filled with age-appropriate toys and activities.   There is a second room available for parents and their children, which has a rocking chair and changing station complete with a sink for hand washing.  The sound from the worship service is piped into these childcare rooms so parents and volunteers may still listen in on the service while caring for the little ones.

What is Safe Sanctuaries?

Safe Sanctuaries is a program provided through the United Methodist Church which requires all volunteers, who work with children, to go through special training, provide references and go through a background check.  Two safe sanctuaries certified adults must be present in each room where children’s programming is being held.  Safe Sanctuary Certification is required before any volunteer can help in the nursery, Sunday school or youth group meetings and events.

What Sunday School classes are available for me and my family?

A variety of Sunday School classes are available for all ages.  Sunday School classes meet during the hour following the traditional service.  Childcare is available for infants and toddlers in the nursery during that time.  Children’s classes are available for Pre-schoolers, elementary school aged children, and teens.  There are several adult classes available.  To read descriptions of these classes and find out where they meet click here.

Is there a coffee hour or fellowship time on Sunday mornings?

There is no formal fellowship time set for typical Sunday mornings.  However, there is a coffee bar, which often has snacks, downstairs outside the kitchen and gymnasium (stairs are next to the elevator). You are welcome to pick up a cup on your way to Sunday School and visit with others from the church.

We hope this has been helpful and has answered some of your questions about your first visit.  Feel free to contact our church office at: 717-561-0388 with any additional questions you may have.  We look forward to meeting you!
