Sunday School Classes for Kids:

Our ‘Littles’ group is comprised of ages 3 – 6 years old.  These classes are designed to share a Bible lesson using imagination, music, and simple crafts.  Recent topics included a Noah’s Ark (kids used magazine cut outs to fill their Ark with animals and other items); Instruments of the Bible (lots of music, dancing, and horn blowing!); and the Walls of Jericho.

Our ‘Middles’ group ranges in age from 6 to 13 years old.  This class Introduces more reading of Bible verses and discussion. Recent topics included types of Prayers and how we can use prayer daily; the story of Peter Simon and fishing; and puzzles using names of people from the Bible.

The ‘Teen’ group has a more structured lesson plan with the current topic being Standing Strong.

Most classes are about 1 hour in length and follow the regular Sunday Service.  All children from the community are welcome!

Please contact the church office at chambershillchurch@gmail.com  or 717-561-0388, for any additional information.

Every time our church doors are open for an activity that involves children and/or youth, we will have Safe Sanctuaries trained volunteers present.  These are adults who have taken a class on recognizing and preventing child abuse, have had a criminal background check, and agree to work in pairs with another trained adult.

We take the safety of our children and yours very seriously!

The General Conference mandate of 1996 requires all United Methodist Churches to implement policies and procedures to prevent the risk of abuse of children, youth and vulnerable adults. One factor in Safe Sanctuaries policies is the utilization of national background and child abuse clearance checks to screen staff and volunteer candidates before they supervise children, youth or vulnerable adults. Free online training is provided to all of our members. Our leaders who work with the youth are required to have background checks and complete the online course. We also use a “roamer” during Sunday School to make sure all children are accounted for during classes.
